It’s time for another Air Arms adventure. Today, we’re out with Andy Watkins for some airgun hunting: pest control with the Air Arms S200.
It’s a beautiful spring afternoon and skilled air rifle shooter; Andy Watkins is helping out a local farm with their pest problem. This particular location is home to not just your typical farmyard animals, but several exotic species as well. Pest control is vital for areas like this, vermin such as rats, squirrels, pigeons and jackdaws can cause horrendous amounts of damage and their numbers need to be carefully managed.
After a short walk around it isn’t long until Andy spots several pests that need removing. Thankfully he has the right air rifle for the job. The Air Arms S200 is one of Andy’s favourite air rifles for pest control. Lightweight and accurate, the S200 is ideal for this type of hunting environment.
Andy really has his work cut of him for today. Farms like this attract all manners of pests and the problems they bring. There isn’t one species that he is aiming for; he needs to be as successful as possible so that the damage caused by these vermin is as little as possible.
As he continues his search, Andy’s approach alters as he begins to set out decoys and lays out a hide. It becomes a waiting game for Andy and his dedication and patience is rewarded, as he is able to shoot even more problem pests.
The day comes to a close and it’s time to head home. It’s been a fantastic afternoon and another successful outing with the Air Arms S200. Andy was able to a shoot a solid number of pests, all of which will go straight back into the food chain
